In this workshop we elevate the humble patch into a piece of art in its own right. Express your own individuality by literally wearing your 'heart on your sleeve'.
We will learn how to make a scrappy patch. Scraps of fabric can first be used to make custom patches that we can then apply to our garments in need of repair.
We invite you to bring along your own garments in need of repair, and whether they have tears or holes in, or threadbare sections we can create the perfect patch for the job. For example we can make repairs with appliqués or embroidered textiles.
We can also make a patch out of hexagon shapes. This can be applied to any item you wish.
As with all our workshops, tea, coffee and a delicious selection of biscuits and nibbles will be provided to make for an enjoyable and creative day. I will be there to answer any questions you may have and guide you through the process.
All my courses are open and creative by nature, so any ideas you may wish to explore during the workshop, I will be there to advise and show you the way. I will supply all tools for use on the day along with a selection of fabrics you can choose from to make your patches. You can of course bring along your own as well.
I offer one Mendful Patchwork Workshop per month that takes place in my home studio in the Hague (see contact info at the bottom of the website). Pick the best date for you above and sign up. All Workshops begin at 13.30 and are 3,5 hours long. Arrive ten minutes early to get yourself settled in.
Every workshop is open for a maximum of 4 people and a minimum of 2, whether you book with a friend or come alone to meet other mendful patchers, you will be very welcome. I speak both Dutch and English fluently so language isn't a problem.
On booking a place you will receive a PDF (in Dutch and English) with further information on how to get here. You can cancel with a full refund up to 48 hours before the event. After 48 hours the refund will be 50%.
