Sashiko made easy
You will receive two versions: DUTCH and ENGLISH.
Sashiko is a centuries-old embroidery technique from Japan, originally used for
repairing and reinforcing clothing when yarn and fabric were still spun and woven by hand. The sashiko stitch is perfect for decorating fabric and there are countless patterns that have been created over the centuries.
Our Mendful Sashiko starter set comprises of 25 designs that you can use for your
sashiko projects. The Sashiko in this starter set is called Hitomezashi (one stitch sashiko). Hitomezashi designs are worked as a grid of straight lines (left to right, up and down, and at 45 degrees) where running stitches meet or cross one another.
Each design is broken down into steps for you to easily follow. Simply draw the grid directly on your fabric using a water-soluble pen and begin. You will receive 2 versions of the set: as spreads to read online and as pages to print.
Sashiko just got a whole lot easier! Have fun!
